Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Campaign
. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Amos family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Jake and Amber Given this is the 365th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We came across this family at Ikot oku. We were walking pass and then we met this trenched looking mud house surrounded with lots of bushes and trees. The mud house was roofed with through with a rough zinc the structures supporting the house was destroyed. With lacks of funds to fix it this family still lives here among the rubble. We met Mrs Uduak and Mr Akaninyene Amos at their little farm yard. They welcomed us and introduced us to their kids also.

They are not so physically strong so their children will usually assist them in chores and for farm work. They must farm in order to eat. After farming they will harvest some vegetables and prepare meals in this kitchen. Their kitchen is outside and is built with bamboo sticks and they have a little open space where some domestic animals are kept.

They were very happy to receive the bag of rice we donated to them and their neighbors we also excited too, knowing the need this family has. I know that this donation will go a long way in securing the needs of the family.
