. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Samuel family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to an anonymous donor this is the 379th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

The Samuell family was a special family for us to visit during this period of recession. They were really in need of helping hands. They live in an unsightly perilous environment which is roughly zinced and patched surrounded with beautiful flowers. We were welcomed by Mrs Mercy Samuel Nwaogwugwu who is a widow of eight (8) children but stays with five (5) kids including her grandchildren.

Mrs Nwaogwugwu is the bread winner of the house. She indulges in farming to put food on the table for her children and grand children. This is their kitchen, patched and constructed with rough zincs. They prepare food with fire woods and tripod stand. They have few kitchen equipments.

When we introduced ourself to this family and told them the purpose of our visit, Mrs Mercy was very excited and grateful. I loved seeing the smile on her face and it doesn’t look like she does enough of it. She is a very hardworking woman and I hope and pray this bag of rice feeds and blesses her family.
