. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Ezekiel family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Becky Wright this is the 380th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this special family in a village called Umuola outside Aba, Abia state. They were recommended to us by their church leader. They live in an uncompleted one room apartment a very unconducive and unpleasant environment. Most of their basic necessities were not covered. We came in contact with Mrs Gladys Ezekiel Finebone with her three (3) children but in total five (5) children. Mrs Mercy is a widow she lost her husband few years back.

Mrs Mercy is currently unemployed, but her 3 children who lives with her hawks periwinkle around the area. These are edible small snails that are used in soups. This does not provide much income just enough for a meal every few days. This is their kitchen. A little cemented space by the back of their compound. It seems the Ezekiel’s don’t consume much food, their kitchen utensils and other equipment are left outside in an uncompleted open space outside the house. Due to the fact that their room is compacted with properties most of their stuffs were kept outside including the bed foam and personal belongings. we also came in contact with their privy area made with rough zinc and old dirty clothes which is very unsanitary. Their poor environmental condition strikes me really hard.

The family were very pleased to receive this donation. On her behalf I want to thank those who donated the bag of rice, the lives they affect with this act will literally save people’s lives and will help this family a lot.
