. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Jaja family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Barbara Valencia, Christine Collins and Adam Gedeborg this is the 382nd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this special family in a village called Umuola outside Aba, Abia state. They were referred to us by their church leader to see if we can assist them. This family lives in an uncompleted building, cemented and roughly structured. The environment is unconducive and not health friendly also the unavailability of electricity and water. We came in contact with Mrs Patience Romney Jaja who is a widow her husband passed away many years ago. She has a total of six (6) children and is currently living with one they live in one room. The other 5 kids were sent to live with their relatives due to the poor condition of their household and not being able to feed them.

Mrs Patience was once a trader and had a shop of her own but was later destroyed and demolished by the government so she was left jobless and unemployed with no husband to help. Their room space is divided into sections with curtains for the cooking space and a space for personal belongings. The room is floored with cement and the carpet are all old and turned into pieces.

Mrs Jaja was very excited to meet us. They were very thankful for the bag of rice we donated to them and those who donated for them to get it. We were happy that we could contribute to her efforts. Seeing her strength, knowing the burdens she carries made our hearts heavy. But knowing the difference this bag of rice will make to her family, sure left us with a smile. This bag of rice is worth more than she is will earn in 6 months to a years time, with her current situation. Today we gave her a miracle.
