. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Udeagha family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to The Thayn Family this is the 384th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this wonderful family in a village called Umuola outside Aba, Abia state. They live in a bungalow very desolate and wretched roofed with patched old rusty zincs surrounded with clothes hanged outside the house and a large plastic container for water purposes. We were received by Mrs Udeagha, her aged mother and her 6 children. She has a total of eight (8) children. She is a widow, her husband passed away few years back.  Mrs Udeagha is a trader, she indulges in selling farm produce in the local market but even trade has been affect by the inflation they have not been able to sell their produce and have been struggling hard to get food. She also engages herself in selling roasted corn and pears just outside her compound. Every day was a struggle as she took up the responsibility to feed the whole household.

This very simple family do not have a room for their kitchen, so they cook outside in the open behind their house. They use firewood or kerosene stove to prepare meals as that is the cheapest fuel they can afford.

The family was surprised with our visit because they don’t get to experience much of these privileges often and were very grateful for the gift. Thanking the Lord for not forgetting them in these difficult times. They were very thankful for the bag of rice and those who donated for them to get it.
