. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Frank family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to The Lindsey Watkins Family this is the 389th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Frank family in Ikom Ima village in Akwa Ibom state. We decided to check on them because we saw their kids playing outside and wanted to check on the whole family. Mr Frank is a pastor and lives in a rented one bedroom apartment with other tenants in a one storey building. This wonderful family were a pleasure to meet and were very welcoming to us.

The Franks prepare their meals in a semi covered area at the back of their house. They use the popular firewood and metal tripod combo because it is cheap and the fuel is easily accessible. Mr Frank is a pastor and I don’t know if he gets paid doing that but he has a very happy family and maybe that’s enough. And if it isn’t he has a farm at the back of the house and everyone pitches in when its time to farm or harvest.

The Franks were not expecting us and were happily surprised when they found out who we were and what we brought for their family. They were super excited and thanked those who donated to their family even during this special season. Mr Frank kept praying for us and also prayed that the Lord will reward those who donated to their families more than they can contain.

Family all dressed up for the photo. You might of noticed their little ones did not have clothes when we arrived. Families often change their clothing or put on clothes for the photo so show respect and honor those who have given them the rice.
