Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Obi family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to TERRY SIMMONS this is the 399th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
The obi family lived in a village called Ibesikpo outside Uyo, Akwa ibom State. Their residence is quiet the location. They live in a small incomplete building.. it is cemented and surrounded with trees and bushes. There is also around it a roughy patched foam designed as a seat to take time out. We were welcomed by the Obis . They were very happy to see us . Mrs and Mrs obi have a total of 8 wonderful children and but they are mostly with living with other families because of the Obis inability to take care of all of them.
We met only Mrs Obi at home. She is an Agidi seller. She produces and sells agidi in the local market. She is usually assisted by her child. While Samuel obi is retired and can’t work again so he is currently unemployed . They have a cooking space located outside the house. They prepare and cook meals with firewood in this other part of the house. It is surrounded with bushes.
The Obi family they were very happy and pleased to receive this gift. They were rejoicing and their hearts were filled with so much joy and appreciation. I was fully satisfied at the happiness I hope this donation goes a long way to cater for the needs of this household. Despite the poor and devastating conditions of the environment I pray this bag of rice fill some of their pending needs.
