. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Allan family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Joseph Callahan this is the 407th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met the Allan family in Nung Udoe, Uyo, Nigeria. They were referred to us by the Edet family who we met earlier. The Allans have 5 kids and they live in a two bedroom mudhouse. This village is pretty much cut of from the nearest town so they have to make due with things around them. Including fetching water from the local stream or trekking for miles to get power to their phones.

The Allans do not have a kitchen and use a space at the back of their house to cook. They use firewood to cook as it is the cheapest fuel they can afford. The Allans are farmers and grow palm trees which they harvest and sell in the local markets. Sometimes if the harvest goes well, they can make palm oil which they can use to cook.

The Allans were so happy to meet us. They were not expecting us at all and were very delighted to see the gift we brought to them. They kept thanking us and prayed for blessings on those who donated this wonderful gift to them and their family.
