Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Daniel family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to an Anonymous Donor this is the 414th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
Mr Ubon introduced us to his neighbor and that is how we met the Daniel family. They live close to the Ubons and they were very happy to meet us too. Mr Daniel has 3 kids and live in a one bedroom house with other tenants. To get water they have to use the community borehole which is not even close to where they live. Electricity is a foregone conclusion in this area as the government has forgotten them.
The Daniels cook near the same area as the Ubons but they can not afford even a makeshift zinc kitchen incase it rains. They cook in the open space with firewood and the popular tripod metal tripod so as to save costs. Mr Daniel rides a bike which he uses to pick people and charge them for the transportation. His wife is a farmer but was not at home when we arrived.
The Daniels were happy to meet us and already knew about our bag of Rice project. They pleaded on their neighbor Mr Ubon to talk to us and we were more than happy to meet them. They were grateful to receive their bag of Rice and thank God for the donors and prayed that they will be replenished tenfold for this kind gesture given to their family. They were overjoyed and Mr Daniel thanked us again as we were leaving saying that we were answers to his prayers as he wished us goodbye.
