Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Emmanuel family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to James and Nancy Aydelotte family this is the 432nd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
The Emmanuel Family live in a small rigorous building at Itu local government of Akwa ibom state. The house is caved with patches of zincs and rough woods. We were given a welcome relief by Madam Mary Emmanuel who happens to be a widow and one of her children. Her husband died few years back and so she decided to relocate from the northern part of the country down to head southern areas with her kids. Due to the process she is currently unemployed with nothing at hand and no way to fend or take care of the children.
We were favored enough to take a look at their cooking space, a small area they carved out just beside their apartment with zinc patches with little or no kitchen equipment and utensils. To worsen the scenario, there was no food at all to eat. It was quite dreadful for Mary all by herself as a widow to provide basic needs for the children having relocated to a new environment.
Mrs Mary was really excited to receive this package because she said they don’t get to see this often around here. With this package she can establish and lay a new foundation for her business and household. More so providing for the children and now for the house to feed. We were pleased to see her happy we hope this package goes a long way to make her stay here fruitful and productive.
