Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Inyong family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Britani Shea this is the 446th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
We met the Inyong family in Ikot Ekpene Road which is domiciled in Uyo Local Government area, Akwa Ibom state. The family lives in a one bedroom apartment and they have 4 kids. When we met them the wife was not at home, the husband welcomed us and when we told him what we have for them they were so happy and they didn’t believe their eyes.
The Inyong reserved a room and that served as their kitchen. The family used a small kerosene stove in cooking and all the kitchen utensils were in the kitchen. Mr Inyong is a security guard for his community as the area they live in is unsafe at night and the job involves a lot of risk. Due to the high rate of unemployment he has no choice than to take the job and feed and cater for his family needs.
The Inyong family was surprised when they saw us and when we told them what we brought, the family was happy and they didn’t believe what their eyes saw. They thanked the donor and prayed for them. The family continued praying for the donor until we left.
