Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Udoh family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to TERRY SIMMONS this is the 463rd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
We met this beautiful family in a small village outside Uyo, Nigeria. They were recommended to us by their village leader. The Udohs have three kids, and they live in a very small one bedroom apartment that they share with other tenants. It was a delight to meet this family, as we could not find their exact location because of house numbering issues.
We met the lovely Mr Udoh and Mrs Udoh at home with their kids. Mr Udoh works as a security guard at a local school and his wife has a small grocery shop to try and support the family. They have a small kitchen which was as tidy as they could manage and they cook with a small gas cylinder. They share this kitchen with another tenant.
It was a pleasure to finally meet the Udohs. We could not locate them for an hour and spent majority of that time on the phone trying and eventually succeding in finding them. They were very happy to meet us and were overjoyed to recieve a bag of Rice. They were grateful to those who donated this unexpected gift especially in this turbulent times. They had huge smiles on thier faces and kept thanking us for the bag of Rice.
