Bug Juice- Easy drink recipe

Bug Juice- Easy drink recipe

This Bug Juice- Easy drink recipe is fun to make with the kids. You can make it as easy as possible and just mix up the drink with a water packet and a water bottle. Or use Kool aid packets and a pitcher and make a batch of it! The best part? You can control the amount of sugar added!

What if I told you that you could make a yummy, refreshing drink for you and the kids this summer without having it be loaded with sugar? Sounds great, right? Now what if I tell you that you can make a whole pitcher of it at once so everyone could have some?! Well, it’s your lucky day. This fun drink is sweet and refreshing, but you can control how much sugar is added (or you can completely omit it if you’d like).

Kids love those little bottles of juice from the grocery store, and while they are a fun treat, they aren’t ideal for every day. Not only are they full of sugar, but they add up really quick and even getting one every time you’re at the grocery store can get expensive. Making your own at home is so cost effective and hardly any effort at all!

You will need:

  • Kool Aid packets (If making a pitcher) or single serve drink packets
  • Water
  • Sugar (optional)
  • Gummy worms
  • Pitcher and cups or a water bottle

If you’re using a packet of Kool Aid and following the recipe, it will call for quite a bit of sugar. However, if you add the packets to water, stir until dissolved you may find you don’t need any extra sugar. You can taste test as you go, and add sugar in small amounts until it tastes good to you. This is a great way to get more water in your busy kids without having the effects of too much sugar for them.

Drink packets also come in so many different options and you can find them without dye in them as well, so you can limit the amounts of dyes your family is consuming as well.

Once you mix up your Kool aid, or have added a drink packet to a water bottle and shaken it, add to a cute cup and garnish with a gummy worm. You can add the worm to the drink too, just know that the worm will soak up the water and swell, so don’t add until you’re ready to serve.
