Carrot Garland ~ Easy, DIY, Spring Craft
Why would you want to make a garland of carrots for spring, you may ask? Well, for one, brownie points with the Easter Bunny, right?! Not to mention, that it is fun, bright, happy and just “springy”!
You will need
1 sheet of orange printer paper
1 sheet of green printer paper
stapler
hot glue
hot glue gun
hole punch
ribbon, twine or yarn to string garland
paper trimmer or scissors
Begin by cutting your orange paper into 1 inch strips lengthwise. And your green into 1/2 inch strips on the shorter width of the paper. Now take your orange strip and staple it together on the bottom.
Now take your green strip and fan fold it. Large folds, you should make the folds big enough that you get about 3-4 “leaves” out of it. Staple it together on the bottom as well. Now put a dot of hot glue on the top of the carrot and gently press the green onto the orange. Now fan them out a little bit so they aren’t so flat.
Almost done! Use your hole punch and push a hole through both sides at the same time, then you are sure they are in the same spot. This is just a matter of personal taste on how high up you punch your hole. String a piece of ribbon, twine or yarn through the carrots so they are all connected.
That is it! It isn’t the normal, pastel Easter decor and I think that is why I love it so much! It is unusual and fun!
