While at Blissdom a few weeks ago I had the pleasure to meet a few friendly faces that worked for De Wafelbakkers. I had never heard of this brand before and frozen pancakes are not exactly on my favorites list. But not wanting to be rude I accepted their offers for a free sample. Now let me just say every frozen pancake I have had in the past has been a rubbery sad excuse for a breakfast food. So you can imagine my shock when these frozen pancakes were light and fluffy, melted in your mouth, and had a buttery flavor…. way better than anything I make at home. No joke these pancakes are delicious, totally won me over.
Another thing that won we over was the price and how easy they are to prepare. Walmart has the large De Wafelbakkers bags of 24-80 count for $3.50, make them $.04-$.15 per pancake. The 80 count are the mini pancakes perfect for little hands (as seen in the photo above) my kids love to dunk them in the syrup. To heat them all you have to do is pop them in the microwave for about 30 seconds and you are ready to enjoy a hot breakfast.
But the real question comes down to if Matt and the kids would eat them… Well I am happy to report the my kids all loved them, and agree they are much better than the ones I make. (Yes I am a pretty good cook, but I guess an awful pancake maker….lol). Matt really liked them as well and loves how easy they are to prepare. He happily ate the whole bag of blueberry pancakes the last 2 weeks for breakfast.
