Now that spring is here it is time to work in the yard. We all know that making our yards beautiful with plants and flowers can be very expensive. We have found a way to make our yard nice without having to spend lots of money. There are lots of plants that you can cut a branch off of, and put it in water till it grows roots. Once it has a good root system you can plant them it in your yard. We have done this with our lilac bush, creeping phlox, and silver lace climbing plant. It has been 2 years since we planted them, and they are growing very nicely. Simply ask friends and neighbors if you can have a start or split a plant (like creeping phlox). I think that is a thrifty idea that has worked for us.
