I headed out in the snow storm this morning to get my $.29 Dannon yogurt at Albertsons. While I was there I stumbled across a very thrifty deal. They have the Starkist chunk tuna on sale for $1.00. Use the $.75 off 2 coupon from yesterdays Red Plum insert, and use a twice the value coupon and you can get them for only $.25.
I also noticed a catalina tag hanging on the larger pouches of Tuna, when you buy 5 get back a $1.50 catalina good till 3/22….made me wonder if it was printing on the smaller ones as well? Sure enough it did, which made them FREE!!
This is how my transaction looked like
- Buy 6 Starkist tuna pouches =$6.00
- use 3 $.75 off 2 coupon from the 3/6 red plum
- also use 3 twice the value coupon from the Albertsons ad in sundays 3/6 paper
- final price $1.50 ( if you live in Idaho plus .23 tax)
- after you pay get back a $1.50 catalina
Transaction #2
- Buy 6 Starkist tuna pouches =$6.00
- use 3 $.75 off 2 coupon from the 3/6 red plum
- also use 3 twice the value coupon from the Albertsons ad in sundays 3/6 paper
- pay with $1.50 catalina from transaction #1
- final price free ( if you live in Idaho pay .23 tax)
- after you pay get back a $1.50 catalina
Please note that this was a deal the stores were not ready for so they do not have a ton of stock on hand. My store had about 200 pouches but they were going quick. The catalina does go till 3/22 so you may get a rain check and hope we get doubles again.
