You will need:
1 lb of fresh carrots
3 tablespoons butter
4-6 tablespoons brown sugar
salt and pepper
Peel and chop your carrots to desired size. I do smaller bite size for my kids, plus they cook quicker. If you want to see how make HEART SHAPED CARROTS i did post yesterday with how to photos.
Add carrots to a pot, and cover with just enough water to cover the top. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook still fork tender or till water is almost gone. Watch them close so you do not burn them, or run totally out of water. It normally takes mine about 6-9 minutes to cook. Depends on how big they are, and how many I am cooking.
You could also steam them if you want, they just need to be cooked till tender.
Once they are cooked, drain any remaining water from the pot. Add butter and brown sugar, turn heat back on to medium.
