Thanks to Mamas Spot for passing along this great post on how to make your own sidewalk chalk paint. What a great way to use up all those little broken pieces! I was outside with my little girl one day, and I started to notice all the little tiny pieces of chalk everywhere! It was starting to drive me crazy and while I was hosing down our patio I realized I could turn the unused chalk into a new fun activity! So we made sidewalk chalk paint, and here is how you can make it too!
All you need is:
- Sidewalk chalk
- A bag
- Hammer
- Hot Water
- Paint Brushes
This is so easy! All you need to do is put your chalk into a baggie (the thicker the better) and use the hammer to crush the chalk into fine pieces. Once you have it crushed dump the chalk into a cup and slowly add your water until you get a paint consistency.
Then just let your little Picasso paint away! It cleans off pretty easily, but I can guarantee your little one will make a mess so I would recommend having them wear clothes that you don’t care about getting dirty.
