We took the kids ice fishing 2 weeks ago in Cascade Idaho, my husband wanted to buy a heater for the trip. I told him we didn’t need it we would be fine because we all dresses warm and had gloves and we even had a tent to break the wind… and we should save money and not buy an outdoor heater. We’ll my husband found a great deal on one and bought it anyway which made me a little irritated. Long story short it snowed the whole time we were there, it was cold and windy and the kids gloves failed to keep them warm…… but we were all roasty toasty thanks to this amazing heater we had out there on the ice. Let me just publicly say I WAS WRONG and my HUSBAND WAS RIGHT and that was the best 69 dollars we have spend all year. It is still on sale if anyone else wants to grab one too! It will be nice to take camping, and for other outdoor events that might be a little chilly.
One of my favorite things about this heater is, if it starts to tip at all it turns the heaters off which reduces the chance of it falling and catching something on fire.

We stayed warm thanks to a good heater and the tent that helped stop the wind from blowing in (it was only 3 sided for good ventilation for the heater). But the kids still got cold hands from touching the snow and water. GOOD GLOVES are key. Carhartt has 40% off select gloves till 3/01/16. Now is a great time to grab a good pair.
Long story short if you are going to be out on the ice all day, a heater, waterproof gloves and a tent to stop the wind sure make life a lot easier! The fishes we caught is not as big as what Jimmy John Shark caught, but the fishes we got is enough to feed our whole family!
