Logan’s Run 5k and Benefit Concert (local deal)

The second annual Logan’s Run with Hope is right around the corner happening Saturday, July 16th.  Last year’s inaugural event had an amazing turnout with 450participants and an unbelievable outpouring of support from sponsors and volunteers.  In all, we raised roughly $18,000 for First Candle, a national non-profit health organization dedicated to helping babies survive and thrive along with eliminating Stillbirth and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) through research, education and advocacy.

If you’re wondering  what Logan’s Run with Hope is, on June 27, 2009 Molly found our second daughter lifeless in her crib.  It was determined that she had died of an unknown cause otherwise known as SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.  This gave us a unique opportunity to discover the value and depth of our friendships.  We had people coming at us from every angle looking for a way to ease our burden.  Logan’s Run with Hope is the brainchild of a group of our friends wanting to celebrate life, give other SIDS affected families a place to congregate, and to help raise awareness for SIDS and healthy babies in an effort to keep this from happening to other families.

Our vision for the charity is to first and foremost create an event where SIDS and Stillbirth families and friends can get together and know that they are not alone. Registration for the 2011 Logan’s Run with Hope 5k walk/run is now open.  If you wish to participate or support the event please go to www.logansrunwithhope.com and sign up.  While you’re online please friend us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter @LogansRunBoise.  In addition to the 5k walk/run on Saturday, July 16th, the Ray Johnston Band will be playing a benefit show on Wednesday, July 13th at the Rose Room in downtown Boise at 7:00 pm, please check the website for details on tickets.
