IMG_4589This is what we got in our Bountiful Basket!

  • Bag of green beans
  • 7 sweet potatoes
  • Large Celery
  • 3 heads of broccoli
  • 7 large bananas
  • 5 large oranges
  • 1 lb of Champagne Grapes
  • 21 small plums
  • 3 Large Mangos
  • Head of Leaf Lettuce
  • 4 large nectarines
  • 4 large Tomatoes

My cousin Alicia wanted to see how good of deal we really got.  So she weighed everything down to the ounce and did a price check on these same items at our local Walmart.  These items would have cost $30.60. So we really did get a thrifty deal.

Saturday I took part in the Bountiful Basket here in Caldwell.  I am not a morning person, so 7:45 on the weekend is a little early.  I took both my boys along, being that they were up. We got our basket and we were off to get our loot.  I love the fact that the pick up site is less than a mile from my house….how lucky am I!

There was a rather long  line, (I was surprised to see how many people were there)  but it went really quick.  Once we got to the sign in table I had to give her my name and conf#… simple as that!

I then got two baskets, one with fruit one with veggies.

We then had to transfer it all  into our basket we brought…. We were in and out within 10 mins.

IMG_4588We all had a great time! Look forward to making this part of our shopping routine.

Don’t forget to sign up for this weeks baskets, it opens tonight at 8pm and will close at 11 pm Tuesday morning. The spots will fill up quickly so don’t wait.

Did you go, and what did you think about it?
