First wearable hearing aid Did you know Rayovac was founded in 1906 as the French Battery Company in Madison, WI. And by 1920, the French company had more than $2.5 million in sales, 600 employees. In 1930, the company name changed to Ray-O-Vac – due to the new technology of vacuum tubes and electron rays. During this same time, the company patented the first wearable vacuum tube hearing aid. It is a good thing we dont have to walk around with vacume tubes in our ears for hearing aides. Technology sure has changed the world, and Rayovac has changed hearing aid batteries for sure!
