Readers Kelloggs deal

Thanks to Melody for sharing her wonderful Money maker scenario.

I just successfully pulled off the Buy $20 in participating Kelloggs products at Albertsons, buying items that qualify for the Fuel for School rebate and I wanted to share because it turned into a decent moneymaker.  I was hoping someone would share their experience before I did mine because I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t work out, but I decided to go for it.  My Albertsons is pretty coupon friendly, so I knew they would be glad to help me out.

There is only one item that qualifies for both, Rice Krispies 8 ct bars.  Here’s my transaction:

7 boxes of Rice Krispies @ $2.88 each = $20.16
3 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats @ $2.88 each = $8.64 (or any other cereals you have coupons for that qualify for the Kelloggs promo)
Subtotal: $28.80
– (2) Buy 5, get $5 Kelloggs instant savings
– $1.50 off two Mini Wheats here
– $1 off Mini Wheats (Vocalpoint coupon)
– (2) Albertsons doubles

Total: $14.30 out of pocket
Submit for $10 Kelloggs rebate here
Receive $10 catalina coupon to use on your next trip
$5.70 MONEYMAKER

You can do this with just the Redplum coupon and no doubles and will still be a small moneymaker.  You could buy 10 boxes of Rice Krispies also, just to make it easy.  The only part you have to do is purchase 7 Rice Krispies to get over the $20 mark for the catalina.  Make this an even better deal: Buy 10 bottles of Kraft BBQ sauce in a separate transaction, pay $5 out of pocket and receive (5) $1 catalina coupons.  Use those towards your Kelloggs purchase.  You’ve now made over $5 on all your Kelloggs items, plus you have 10 bottles of BBQ sauce.  I would have done this, but my store only had 3. 🙂

I hope this helps others, it’s a great deal.  I normally wouldn’t want this many Rice Krispies in the house because our son is so young, so it would just be my husband and I eating them, but his birthday is coming up, so I figure I can use them as treats.
