Remember to check expiration dates

Spread the love

I got this email which is a good reminder to check those dates …

I just wanted to give a heads up about the Quaker deal at Albertson’s this week.  I went to the one on Cherry and Ten Mile last night and ALL the Quaker Oatmeal Squares are going to expire next month.  So it won’t be such a good deal for stocking up.  The one on Meridian/Cherry/Fairview had plenty of the Hint of Brown Sugar that don’t expire until next year, but they had no Cinnamon flavored.

As you know I always say stock up on items when they are at least 50% off…get what  your family will eat in the next 2 months.  But if it is 75% – FREE then I stock up as much as I can store, and what my family will eat  before it expires. Make sure you always look at the use by date do not buy more than you can consume in that time.  Each family’s needs are a little different, so it is hard for me to say how much for you to buy.  But the longer you coupon the better you will get at learning what you personally feel is a great stock up price and how many to get to meet your family’s needs.

After reading a few of your comments, yes I agree  these are the best by dates.  Eating it after that is ok within reason.  I was raised eating food well past the use by date, and I am still alive and kickin (lol).  This is just a good thing to remember to look at before you really stock up.  It always taste much better fresh. (nothing like a chewy Cheeto…lol)
