Snowman family button craft, fun craft for kids
Winter is my favorite time of the year to craft. I am not sure what it is, probably the fact that it is too cold that I don’t want to leave my house! I love when there is a chance to stay home and do something crafty with the kids. It doesn’t take a lot of time, but sitting around together doing something has let us have some of our best conversations. This is a great activity to do with the kids, perfect for a long winter day stuck indoors.
You will need
card stock or construction paper
buttons
hot glue
markers, pens
I had a small container of white buttons in various sizes that I got at Michaels a long time ago, I think it was just a dollar. I love that it came with different sizes and styles of buttons, perfect for something like this. Just pick out your buttons and place them where you would like them to be. You are going to hot glue them on, so you will probably need to help with this to prevent kids burning their fingers, especially if the glue seeps through the holes in the middle of the buttons at all.
Once the buttons are glued on, let your littles decorate their winter scene any way they would like. I love the differences in the pages, even though they were all doing the same family, they all decorated them differently making it fun to compare and contrast.
This would also be fun to do on a piece of wood or chipboard and make an ornament or decoration out of it.
