Strawberries Made From Plastic Easter Eggs
I swear I always end up with way too many of the lovely plastic Easter eggs every year. Between 3 kids and various egg hunts, grandparents and friends we have more than our fair share of the little buggers around the house! This is such a fun way to use some of them up and make them stand out!
You will need:
green drinking straw
hot glue gun
small candy for filling eggs
Begin by making small black marks all over your eggs. You can do dots or small lines. I did some of each. Now, taking your green foam, cut small star like shapes. These don’t have to perfect stars, they will be the top of your strawberry. Trim small sections of your straw as well. This will act of the stem so they don’t need to be very long. You will be able to get several out of one straw.
Turn your egg upside down. The larger, bottom of the egg will act as the top of your strawberry. Put a small dot of hot glue on and firmly press one of your green starlike shapes on. Let that set for a moment before doing the same thing with the piece of straw. This may be trick, as it will be a hollow straw. Make sure to use a small amount so you don’t end up with a lot of glue seeping out .
Now, fill your eggs with candy. This would be cute for an egg hunt, in your kids’ Easter baskets, or use them with a small berry basket to brighten someone’s day. Would be a great teacher’s gift, and doesn’t just have to be for Easter!
