Wordless Wednesday

Well normally Little Maleeya is my Wordless Wednesday….but today Matt gets the the wordless Wednesday Award.  So most of you know that we are right in the middle of a huge kitchen remodel.  Matt is doing most the work himself, and has been putting in long hours to try and get things a little more livable before the baby comes.  Oh  ya… did I mention I have been on bed rest so I can’t help at all…and he is now trying to play Mr Mom as well as Mr. Fix it.  Sometimes I awonder what on earth we were thinking taking on such a huge project, but as always it will be worth it in the end.

Matt had to blow piles and piles of insulation off the rafters, so we could take down the old ceiling and replace it with new sheet rock and new can lights.

Old ceiling is gone…Matt is doing all the wiring for the new lights and getting ready for new sheet rock

New sheet rock, and new lights are up.  Plus the new Island is starting to go up as well.  This is my brother Josh who build cabinets, he does amazing work.

Matt had gone up into the rafters again to blow all the insulation back into the kitchen…..he was almost done when he slipped.  He feel causing one of the sheets to come crashing down right on top of Matts dad ( so glad he wasn’t hurt)

Those are Matts legs hanging from the ceiling….and us all standing around wondering what the heck just happened.  Ahhhhhh it was such a  mess to clean up.

We were so blessed that no one was really hurt bad.  Luckily Matt hit the rafters and did not  come crashing all the way down.  He is really banged up, he has a huge scrap on his leg and rather bruised up.  He hurt is back and is in lots of pain….but it could have been so much worse.  Today he is back at work ( as a nurse) taking care of sick kids….when I am sure he would rather be home in bed with a heat pack resting up.  Love you Matt….and I hope you feel better soon!
