Help name our baby

03/15/2010 6:31 am · 496 comments

baSo here is the deal. With out planning this, all of our kids initials are M.J.B. So to not leave our fourth out in the dark with an odd ball initial, help us name his first name. Matthew is out of the question, and other names like Michael and Mark and Max and other forms of those names are out as well.

So help us find a unique boy name that starts with M. Leave a comment

nemiha March 18, 2010 at 1:46 pm

I think it would so cool to have a boy named Merrill.
I would name my boy that but we have a friend with the last name merrill and that would just be akward… lol

Christina March 18, 2010 at 1:43 pm

My friend’s son is from her maiden name, Meyer, very strong and masculine. I thought the Matson was pretty clever: but as he grows the phone calls would still be “Is Matt there?”… confusing. Also, think of the name as an adult… when he is in the corporate world, doing a business deal…how strong is the name Maverick or Micah? somehow I don’t see someone saying/referring “Go see Micah, You should talk to Mav, at XYZ”. Too casual/less serious.

Christina March 18, 2010 at 12:44 pm

Mishak

Sarah H March 18, 2010 at 12:31 pm

Montgomery

I’m partial to Mackenzie – Mack – been reading ‘The Shack’ – good luck — it took us forever to figure out what to name our son -

Sherece March 16, 2010 at 11:47 am

I like McKendree – it’s my nephew’s middle name. Jaxon is a cute middle name….

Mikade – not sure if it has been posted yet!

Sharon March 16, 2010 at 11:16 am

I have always liked the name Myles.

Ashley Cope March 16, 2010 at 10:56 am

I think M names must be popular, cause my two children are Melody and Maxamillion!

Ashley Cope March 16, 2010 at 10:55 am

I thought of one more which goes perfect with your other three children:
Mcklain Julian

I love that name, and it’s not popular which is even better!

Vanessa March 16, 2010 at 10:50 am

Magnus is good. It means great or magnificent. Magnus opus means “great work”. Our children are our greatest, and God’s greatest work. I’ll have to think about the middle initial more……..

Tyree March 16, 2010 at 10:04 am

As far as the middle initial “J” my little brother is “Joel” always liked it. But you could use Jay or Jameson or anything that starts with a J obviously :)
but Milo Joel would be cute
I also like Mitchel and Mason or I think maybe you should match your initals and name him after you this time.
Silas is cute no reason you should be the only “S” in the family right? :)

Katrina Clifford March 16, 2010 at 10:04 am

I have always liked Mason

stacy March 16, 2010 at 9:51 am

I also vote for Max… good with things..hope all goes well…

Aileen March 16, 2010 at 9:49 am

How about:
Mason Jonathan
I love both those names!

Jennifer March 16, 2010 at 9:35 am

Malone Jackson (call him Mal) or Mack James (my grandfather’s name was Edward Mack). Merritt John. Monroe James.

Maria March 16, 2010 at 9:29 am

Just want to apologize for adding a middle name. I totally missed the part where you just asked for help on the first name. I committed one of my own pet peeves. Ack!

steph March 16, 2010 at 9:27 am

Macon
Maleke(Maleek)
But my favorite is…
Matson (means son of Matt)

Eva March 16, 2010 at 9:27 am

How about McKai?
Also like Merrick!

Word of warning on one of the names…

For those of us that perhaps watched “Children of the Corn” in our younger years, Malachi is still too well known for being the possessed demon kid…eek. Red Alert.

Erin March 16, 2010 at 9:24 am

I like the name Malachi and call him Chi (pronounced Ky). I have a James for one of my boys’ middle names.

Amber March 16, 2010 at 9:14 am

I love both Mason and Madden

Sarah Seidel March 16, 2010 at 9:02 am

Hmmm… Naming a little one is so hard!

I like the names Madden, Micah, and Morgan.

Good luck!

Sarah

Kellie March 16, 2010 at 8:35 am

I also like Mitchell.

(With Mason, I always think of Mason jars – so I’d be apt to do Masen).

K. Arnold March 16, 2010 at 8:33 am

I have no idea what your tastes are but here are a few that I like in the “MJ” category:
Memphis James (sweet southern cool)
Mangus Jay (if you’re a fan of Jazz)
Magnus Jack (presidential flair)and
Moses Joseph (so you can call him MoJo for short! hahaha ;^P)

Take luck!

Laura March 16, 2010 at 8:15 am

Malachi means messenger of God in Hebrew
