We can all buy Alfredo Sauce in a jar or make it from a packet…but it is not very good.  A few years ago my Mother in law made me Alfredo Sauce from scratch, I was pregnant and everything made me sick.  She made this and I was in shock at how good it was, I ate it for 3 days in a row.  It has now become a favorite meal at our house.  Plus it is SO easy to make.

All you need is

1/4 cup butter ( it has to be real butter or it will get really oily)
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon Pepper

Put them in a pan on Medium heat….and stir them till they well blended.  You want to make sure to heat it on medium heat or it will not set up right.  Keep mixing it, once it starts to get a few bubbles and thickens take off heat.  Do NOT let it come to a full rolling boil or the sauce will get really thick and the oil will separate.  ( I know this because I made that mistake a few times)  Serve over your favorite pasta.IMG_1591

If you want to spice it up a bit you can add, sausage, garlic, basil, Parsley or what ever makes you happy.

Thanks for posting. I am always looking for a good alfredo recipe. This is super yummy! I added 2 tbs cream cheese, some garlic salt, & basil. Turned otu so yummy...almost like Olive Garden's. It was way easy to make as well!

This is definitely a keeper. I tried this sauce tonight with some butterfly pasta and some veggies-red pepper, broccoli, zucchini and summer squash. Even my picky kids loved it. You are right, this is so much better than the kind you can buy in a jar. Thanks for the recipe!

Thanks for the recipe! I just made up my mind to try at least one new recipe a month and your's got picked for tonight. It was scrumptious! My husband loved it as well...says we don't need to go back to Olive Garden. :) I grilled some boneless skinless chicken breasts and cut it into bite size pieces and served it under the sauce on the pasta. Yum-my! I am addicted to your website. I'm from Rincon, GA just outside of Savannah. Thanks for all the hard work! Sure wish we had an Albertson's! :)

Looks yummy. Question where do you get all of your photo/ baseball card protectors or whatever they are called to put your coupons in? I have asked at my Wal-Mart (in Wyoming) and nobody knows what I'm talking about or they refer me to a different dept. I don't have a staples or anything nearby. Thanks.
