EASY SNACK HACKS FOR LITTLE HANDS
I have 5 kids and I feel like I am pretty experienced at taking care of and feeding my kids. But just as soon as you think you have parenting figured out, life send you a curve ball. Or in my case, child number five. This beautiful blue eyed, long haired princess is cute as they come… but independent and stubborn as all my other kids combined.
She wants to do everything herself, and if I attempt to feed her she simply refuses to open her mouth. She is fine picking up solid food and eating them, but when it comes to things like yogurt, apple sauce our soup it can get a little tricky. She has a hard time keeping it on the spoon long enough to get to her mouth.
I have found that a great way to fix this problem is to put a smoothie straw right thru the top of the container and let her drink it instead of trying to eat it with a spoon. This works great on apple sauce and yogurts. She can be independent and feed herself, with no mess! I like the smoothie straws because they are 2-3 times bigger around so they suck up thicker foods better. I do normally cut them in half and make a short straw which is easier for her to use. Hope this tip helps some of you and your independent little ones.
