Learn how you can be apart of helping people who are in need with our A Thrifty Mom Bag of Rice Campaign. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Jack family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Catherine Smith, Ciana Grimmett and Elizabeth Lehmann this is the 129th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
Mr Jack had been our guide through all our visits in this village and during the visits I got to ask him about his family and I found out that he needed this bag of Rice as much as most of the families we had visited. So for our last delivery we asked him to take us to his house and there we met his family. Him and his wonderful wife has a son and live in a mud house that has been plastered with cement and made livable.

The Jacks are farmers and they grow Corn and Cassava. They also rear goats. We spend basically all day with Mr Jack everytime we come to this village and he always gives us all his time and efforts. We were happy to see where he lived and to help him as he has helped many others.

We had visited a lot of families in this area and have been recommended by Mr Jack to plenty of them. He was so happy to have received this bag of Rice and I knew that they needed it and will be better off having it to help them to live better and survive this harsh economic downturn. And seeing the smile on Mr Jacks face made me very happy because he has been so very helpful to us.
