. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Sifon family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Tammy Fulcher this is the 296th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We were accompanied to the Sifon’s family, a 43 year old widow. Her husband died 10 years ago leaving her and their five children to their fate. She lives in her late father in-law’s house which was inherited by her late husband before his demise. She lives in this house with some of her children and grandchildren. According to her, life has not remained the same since her husband who was the bread winner of the family died. She is into full-time farming, she plants different kinds of crops and sells them on market days after harvesting. Because of the family size, gains from the sale of farm produce are not enough to cater for the family, this situation has forced some of her children out from school.

Looking at the condition of their house, it looked like one that needs urgent attention. As a matter of fact, some parts of the roof were badly affected by the first phase of the rain. Their kitchen apparatus is a tripod cooking stand that allows small size firewood, which they can easily access from nearby bushes.

They received us with opens arms and offered Kola to us. They thought we were sent by Politicians to share palliatives but when we explained to them how these donations came about, they were happy and rained blessings upon the donors, asking God to replenish their sources of income.
