. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Nathan family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to an anonymous donor this is the 322nd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

Mr. Ini Nathan has been a Fisherman ever since his boyhood age, it was proceeds from the business that he used to marry his heartthrob, Mrs. Mfon Nathan, both live together in Afaha village, Uraun Local Government Area of Akwaibom State. We observed that most youths in this locality engage in fishing either as a hobby or as an occupation, this is not far from the obvious fact that the village is blessed with many natural waters. Mr Nathan narrated that the cost of preparing his fish farming tools and living in the coast for months in other catch fishes is one of the major challenges facing their occupation. Sometimes, this handwork does not really put good food on their table, often going without meals. As the sole financier of the family, he struggles to provide for food his wife and three children.

Side view of their home

Looking at the condition of their house, an old two bedroom mud house without plumbing, electricity and basic amenities. They cook outside, this time, not even with the popular tripod metal stand. Their previous kitchen was made of mud and fell after a night of heavy rain. They have not gotten enough money to construct another one.

They were very grateful to donors for remembering them in this period of hardship, they said this will go a long way to ameliorate the sufferings orchestrated by food scarcity asking God to bless the hands that initiated this great idea.
