. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Usanga family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Bekki, James and Kat Spence this is the 337th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this lovely family in a village known as Uruan. They were introduced to us by some traders who lived in the area. The Usanga family lived in a rented house with the 4 kids. They welcomed us into their home, the environment was quite peaceful. Mr Anietie Etim Usanga was  a quiet man and so his wife did much of the talking. She told us her husband was a disabled farmer and so she and her kids did more of the farming. Although Mr Anietie used to assist them in farmwork and other chores whenever he is strong enough. For the family to survive even the little ones must put forth effort, hard work and hunger are a common occurrence in this family. Mr Anietie did not really walk around so much he’s usually in one spot observing his environment.

At the time we came, the Usanga family were trying to prepare a nice native meal at the back of their house after working all day in the farm. It was so nice to see all of them taking part in preparing the meal. They cooked on a kerosine stove. You can se the joy on their faces waiting for the food to be ready.

It was very wonderful meeting this strongly motivated family. They were very happy to receive their gift and prayed for blessings on those who donated to their family. We thanked each other and played a little with the kids and left. I pray God blesses their hands and rewards them with more.
