. In 2016 we started helping a young man named Ikechukwu from Nigeria. Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing
Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. You can also read about other families we have been able to bless here.

The Following story is about the Jimmy family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to Linda Honsvick and Beth Phillips this is the 404th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.

We met this amazing family at a village called Nung udoe in Akwaibom State. They live in a small room house. I saw them when we lost our way to another family but it was too late to visit them and I had to come back to see them the next day. It is surrounded with bushes and palm trees. The doors and windows are covered with linen . They are no proper protectors for the windows. They have no chairs to receive visitors. There is no power supply in the area. We were welcomed by Mr Samuel Oscar jimmy and his wife Mrs Enobong. They have a total of five beautiful children.

Mr Samuel jimmy works as a bricklayer whenever there is any available jobs. Mrs Enobong is unemployed and is currently pregnant with a child so she is left as a house wife to take good care of the children. They are all little children and none of them are in school. This is their bathing space. It is surrounded and made out of bamboo sticks and a zinc roof in front of the house. They also use firewood which is the cheapest fuel that they can afford.

It was a privilege to come across such an amazing family. It turns out that they saw us when we visited the other family and Mr Jimmy said the whole family prayed that evening that they would one day receive this kind of blessing only for them to open the door the next day and I was there. They were happy to receive this bag of rice and thanked the donors who have made them beyond happy. I hope this bag of rice goes a long way in providing for the needs of the household. I know the overwhelming feeling I had to go back to this family was inspired and I pray that God keeps blessing the donors who make sure that this project continues.
