Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Affiong family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to an Anonymous Donation this is the 442nd bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
The Affiong family was recommended by a friend. They live in a one bedroom Apartment in the city of Uyo, Nigeria. They have 2 kids and the two aged couple were happy when we told them the purpose of our visit. The joy on their faces was visible and they felt it was a dream, because they haven’t experienced such before.
The Affiongs cooks at the back of their house. They make use of firewood which is the cheapest fuel they can afford due to the inflation in the price of gas. The spouse are aged and both are retired, they currently don’t work again because of how old they are. They were unable to contain the joy.
The Rice initiative has touched a lot of life. The Affiong family were overjoyed and all they did was pray for the donors, and also pray God should bless them and grant them long life as they have favored them. They never expected the gift and were grateful to receive such gift in this hard times. When we left the couples they were in the mood of celebration and they were happier.
