Summer of 2019 we were able to visit his family in Aba, Nigeria. While there we saw widespread poverty and lack of basic needs. We would like to invite you to help meet one of those basic needs, by providing Nigerian families with rice. This gift will feed a large family for a few months, or a single person a year. It also reminds them they are loved, and brings most of them to tears… as a full bag of rice is one of the most generous gifts they will ever receive. The Following story is about the Effiong family, their bag of rice was donated thanks to The Snodgrass Family this is the 449th bag of rice our program has been able to give away thanks to generous donations.
We met the Nkoyo family in Ibesikpo Asutan local Government in Akwa Ibom State. The Nkoyo live in a one bedroom apartment made of mud which is in a bad state and can collapse at any time because the house is no longer in vogue again. The Effiong family has 5 kids and they were surprised when we told them that we brought them.
The Effiong family uses firewood to cook because that’s what they can afford now due to the high cost of gas in the country and they are unable to afford one. Mr Effiong Is a farmer and he uses this small farm to try and provide for the family. The wife of Mr. Effiong Is unemployed, she helps the husband in the farm so that they could provide for the family, they work hard to meet the needs of the family. But they often lack even basic needs.
Mr Effiong’s family were happy to receive us and joy was written all over their faces. They thanked the donor for giving them such a precious gift in these hard times and prayed for the blessing of God upon them. They prayed that as the donor touched their life God will continue to touch the life of the donor in a positive way.
