Hanger Hack ~ How to Clean Out the Clothes in Your Closet
Ready for the new year? Hey all, it’s Katie. I’ll be honest, I rarely make New Year’s resolutions. I’m not shy of goals in life but after the holidays I’m just happy to get back into a routine, with the kids going to school and eating vegetables regularly and less cheese and meat. So I love this challenge. It takes a whole year and doesn’t require much on a day to day basis. It’s is an easy way to clean out your wardrobe, without the anxiety of doing it all at one time.
I first heard about this from a friend a few years ago. We were talking about organizing and cleaning tips and she shared this tip – Hanger Hack ~ How to Clean Out the Clothes in Your Closet.
First make sure all your clothes are hung up. Go buy some hangers if you need too. This hanger hack works best if all your clothes are hung up and not on the floor. Now turn all of your clothes hangers around so that the hook faces you. As you wear an item and hang things up from doing laundry hang them up normally with hook facing away from you. At the end of the year, you’ve been through all the seasons. Take out all of the clothes on hangers that were never turned around. If the clothes are still in good shape sell them or better yet donate them. If they are stained badly and full of holes throw them out.
