This will burn on some patients especially open wounds. I am a wound nurse and it is truly recommended to assist with adherence of dressings. It doesn’t work as a band aide.

Sarah Heilemann, oh yeah we would definitely load up the mastosol to get those to stay on U0001f602

Sarah I was thinking the same thing U0001f602 and it’s not going to hold a deep cut and when I used to use it a lot it did have a chemical smell.

but you can use it as that.. we did and the docs did in the hospital…

We use this in surgery to put steri-strips over the incision then a dressing over it.

This is NOT liquid bandaid A Thrifty Mom. “Mastisol Liquid Adhesive is a clear, non-irritating, non-water-soluble liquid adhesive that secures even the most difficult dressings for an extended period of time.” Secures bandages, not the same as liquid bandaid.

It’s also great for family outings. Write parents cell phone number on child’s wrist and cover with this. Won’t wash off in the restroom and if the little one gets lost or separated makes it much easier find mom or dad

I had to go to the ER for a laceration and they used dermabond, the nurse told me “it’s the exact same thing as superglue, just packaged individually to make sure it’s sterile”. Fast forward to the other day, i reach into a sink of dishes and get sliced by a knife. I bandaged it and went and got new unopened superglue, glued it shut and a few days later.. Cant even tell it was there. U0001f44dU0001f3fb

My daughter had surgery on her back, they super glued her cut closed.

My husband actually uses super glue when his fingers split. He once glued himself to the radio while we were talking on the phone (and still dating). He was too embarrassed to tell me for about 2 years.

  12. My dr actually closed my c-section opening with surgical glue… I had minimal scarring

What is used for cut (lacerations) is Derma bond !
Mastisol is used as an adhesive for steri-strips as a dressing!

This is not super glue and doesn’t work like super glue. It will help hold on a bandaid by making your skin stickier. But doctors use derma bond for cuts to close them
