Have you seen the commercials for the Play All Day Elmo dolls?  My 18 month old loves Elmo so I was excited to see that they have come out with a Elmo that will GROW with her.  The doll itself will not grow, but it has different  modes to match her development at that time. There is switch in the back of Elmos head that allows you to pick  toddler or preschool mode. These will allow Elmo to do different interactive tasks or games with your child are her understanding and skills grow.

One of the things I like best is fact that Elmo has a NAP button.  He is a chatty little fella and if your child wants to take him to bed then he is going to talk the whole time.  BUT the nap button once switched on will make Elmo say he is sleepy and he starts to talk slower and wants to lay down. Elmo then sings 3 songs to your child, and then goes to sleep.  He will not make noise or move again until nap mode is turned off.

Some fun things Emo can do is count when your child claps his hands, he knows when he is turned upside down  or right side up.  He also plays games with your  child like the red light green light game. When Elmo says green your child is suppose to run, when Elmo says red light you stop.  Elmo can tell if your child moves or not, and will encourage them to do so. I really am amazed at how interactive this doll is, I am super excited to learn more about him and see what all he can do, the longer we have him.

My 18 month old was a little worried that Elmo was moving and talking at first, since her Elmo she had before didn’t do any of that. But she quickly warmed up to him and was loving him and carting him around like her baby.  She put him down after a bit to go eat, I had to smile when I came into the room and saw my 5 year old son all snuggles up with Elmo. He might love super heroes and tough guys but I think Elmo will also hold a special place in his heart. And this Play All Day Elmo is super soft and cuddly!
