Target repentance to couponers?

targetNow one of our readers sent this this, and I am curious if this is just a local store change, or if this is nation wide. We are busy installing all new recessed lights in the house and haven’t been able to verify this yet. Let me know what you find.

Here is Targets official policy

I will keep her name private for her own protection. Here is her email

I work part time nights at Target. Last night we had a team huddle (meeting) about new procedures and policies. All cashiers were given new guidelines for accepting Target and Manufacturer coupons. We were instructed to accept ANY coupon for an item regardless of it’s expiration date. We were also instructed to just scan the coupon, don’t take any time to read it. We are only to glance at it if the computer wont accept it and then just manually adjust the amount. They will still accept two coupons on one item if it’s mfr and a store coupon. Their reasoning behind this was they would rather have people in their store buying two cans of soup at a 50 cent discount than not coming in and buying at all. They said they don’t want any customer leaving angry because of a coupon. They want people to be very happy so they keep shopping there.

update

Another thing is that she asked if this was local for her store (California) or national. She was told it was National….I guess this might be a trial by error experience. We will see…
