Todays Thrifty tips…

Kristi

My husband & I both, seperately take each of our 3 children out for breakfast and then to our local dollar tree. We allow them to pick out up to 5 items for mommie/daddy, we let them wrap the presents themselves. They really enjoy watching us (parents) open up their (children) gifts that they picked out just for us. The kids think its great and we like that they are actually only spending $5.00 each!!!

I just like to donate some of the great deals I get. Sometimes I go a little overboard, but I know what its like to grow up with very little. If we can help even just a few people/families, I feel good about it & hopefully my kids will learn a very good life lesson.Pay it forward, blessings to all.

It always seemed like such a let down the day after Christmas that my mom started the tradition of “stocking presents”. We would have seven presents in our stocking. We opened one present a day starting the day after Christmas through New Year”s Day.We continued this tradition with our children.
We never went overboard on buying them Christmas presents because that’s not what Christmas is about. The stocking presents usually never cost a more than a dollar each as we picked up bargains throughout the year.

My favorite Christmas tradition is our Happy Birthday Jesus party. We invite all the little kids my girls hang out with. We do the whole birthday party with cake and gifts. We sing happy birthday to Jesus and blow out His candle for him. Before the party I find a famly with kids who need Chrismas. I send out the info to moms whose kids are coming to the party and they all bring gifts for the family we have adopted and put them under our tree. Then before Christmas our family delivers the gifts. And this year our little girl got picked to sing the solo at church of Happy birthday Jesus which is the song we always sing at Jesus’ birthday party

I try and shop all year and watch the sales. I have been busy doing cyber sales today. We do Christmas on a more modest amount than a lot of families. We usually buy gifts for a needy family through our church. The kids enjoy helping to pick them out and wrapping them. They have even went with us to deliver them.
