I am thankful that i took early retirement 12 yrs ago to move back my home town to care for my elderly mother, who was being taken advantage of by my 3 old siblings. i was her caregiver 24/7 for over 12 yrs. i feel that b/c i did this, she lived another 10 yrs….unfortunately, i could not protect her enough from my older siblings and she died over the last lawsuit filed by them….(they sued both her and me abt 4 times in 10 yrs). although taking early retirement, moving, lawsuits hurt me both mentally and financially, i am thankful that i did this…i am thankful that i got to spend almost everyday, if not seeing her physically everyday, speaking to her and caring for her last 12 yrs with my mother.
