What would you suggest?

question

Teri sent me this question: I have a question that may not apply to just me.  In September I did not get any papers for inserts due to my daughter being hospitalized and the birth and death of our second Grandbaby.  This is their second child and they lost them both due to unforeseen complications.  Needless to say getting the paper was not high on the list and I do not subscribe.  I plan to subscribe at some point but we can’t right now.  We also went into our Pantry Storage so I am trying to build it back up.  Shopping was also not on the list of important things.  I am wondering which is the better option here, just skip that months coupons or spend the money to buy the inserts that have coupons I really use often.  I am looking at ads the day they come out and ordering coupons that will match for now.  Am I the only one that has had this type of thing happen or is there a plan out there?

Answer: I have had a very busy month and so I understand what Teri is talking about.  The last month or so, using coupons has not been on the top of my “to do” list.  I use to do what she suggested and only buy the papers on the weekends that had coupons that I thought I would use.  Problem is I was them paying full price for several papers, and it ended up costing me more than if I was just to sign up for the multiple paper deal.  To read about the A Thrifty Mom paper deal click here and here. So if you are local I would suggest you just buy the multiple paper deal it has saved me alot of money.  Now I know most areas do not have a deal like this, so for them yes it  might be best to just get the coup0ns you know your family will use.  Always remember that family and life comes first, do not beat yourself up if you need to take a month or two off from couponing.  What do you think?
