About Us

I am a stay at home mom with four wonderful kids. I have been married for over 10 years to my best friend. I am head over heels in love with him. He always supports my crazy "thrifty adventures". We have a lot of fun together.

I was raised on a small dairy farm. Where I learned very young, the value of hard work and how to be thrifty in all areas of life. Growing up our meals were made from scratch. Only on special occasion would we get name brand cereal, chips, or any other fancy treats. Now that I am a Mom with my own budget, the basic foods always comes first. I too make most of our meals from scratch and take pride in feeding my family a well balanced healthy diet.

I enjoy seeing how far I can make our budget stretch, and when I take the time to match sales with coupons I am able to get all those "fun & fancy" items that would other wise be out of my budget. Being thrifty has always been a way of life for me, but it has also become a real joy.

Mom: What are you doing?

4 year old: We are playing zoo

Mom: Oh that sounds fun

4 year old: I’m the Zoo Keeper and my baby brother is the Monkey…. I made a cage for him cause he was driving me Cwazy (crazy). Can I paint now since he is in a cage and can’t bother me?

Wordless Wednesday ~ Can I have a Chicago for Breakfast

4 year old~ Mom can I have a Chicago for Breakfast?

Mom (with her back turned cooking at the stove)~ what?

4 year old- A Chicago… they are so yummy!

Mom~ What are you talking about, you can’t eat Chicago that is a place.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Where is A Thrifty Mom?

Any of you want to guess where I was and what I was doing?

Wordless Wednesday ~ We Don’t….

We Don’t…..

Eat….

Paint….

Wordless Wednesday ~ Cereal between your toes

Why is he looking guilty, and what is on his feet?

He loves to try and get himself a bowl of cereal… but never fails, he dumps the WHOLE box right on the floor.

Someone should invent Child Proof boxes of cereal …but I am pretty sure that would mean most adults would not be able to open them either…lol.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Smiles

Being a Mom is hard some days …. but smiles like this make it all worth it!

Wordless Wednesday – 2 kids, 2 minutes

The room WAS clean….

2 Kids…2 Minutes….Need I say more?

Wordless Wednesday~ what do you have hiding in your cabinet?

I showed you pictures of our unfinished kitchen a few weeks ago.  But what I did not tell you was the fact that Maveric  thinks the corner cabinet is his playhouse.

It is just his size, he will spend half the day in there if I let him.  Banging pots and pans, and having lots of fun.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Never let go of the Jamba

Little Maveric is  just like his Daddy and loves Jamba Juice.  He was beyond excited when we gave him his own little cup  full of Jamba. He  ran off with two hands firmly grasping his “yumms” till he tripped.  Instead of letting go of his “yumms” his little nose landed right on the straw (thank goodness it was not his eye).  It gave him a  little cut… But he never let go of his cup…till it was empty and happily in his tummy.
