This is a great recipe that I like to make when we are asked to bring a finger food to an event.  I was able to make this for less than $2.00, and it feeds a large group.

Here is the Break down

Chilled Veggie Pizza

img_0457The original recipe called for Crescent rolls.  But I used the grands flaky dinner roll biscuits we got for free at Albertsons a few months ago.  We froze them.  I just spread each biscuit out flat on a greased cookie sheet.  Bake till golden on the edges. Set aside to cool.

img_0465In a bowl mix,

  • 1 brick of cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • package of dry Ranch dip or Italian seasoning

Mix together, and spread on cooled biscuits.

img_0472On top of the Cream Cheese Layer add chopped veggies.  I just use what ever I have at the time, this time I used broccoli, carrots and cucumbers.  These are quick, simple and seem to be a hit at every where we bring them.  The plate always comes home empty.

Do you think that the cream cheese mixture would work as a dip for crackers and veggies?

I am curious how you froze your biscuits? Were they the pop open canned kind? Did you take the dough out of the can, or freeze it in the cans?

This is a favorite with my family too. But we take two cans of crescent rolls, and connect all the individual triangles to fit inside of a cookie sheet. I also use dry ranch dressing mix instead of the italian. I will have to try the italian though! We top it with raw broccoli, cauliflower, purple onion, and shredded cheddar cheese. Now I am wanting to make this after seeing it on your blog!

Do you cook the broccoli and carrots before you top the cream cheese? Do you just cut pizza wedges, or how do you serve this? Also a new blinky today is Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce $1.00. The small bottles are $2.29, so .29 after one of the doubler coupons.

Urgh, I tried to email you, but I don't think this computer likes the program I'd need to use. Sorry this comment is off topic. I don't know if you already got this info or not, but I went to Fred Meyer today and wanted to share a couple interesting things that came out of the catalina machine: "Get $5 off a future shopping trip when you buy $25 worth of participating Energizer products in a single transaction between 5/21 and 6/20. *Participating products include: all Schick products, Playtex gentle glide and sport tampons, all banana boat products, Energizer Max batteries, all Wet Ones products" "Coming Soon! Cottonnelle 4 pack toilet paper double roll" I mention this because I know it was just recently that the cottonnelle 4 packs stopped being stocked at Fred's...so this sounds like good news! Thanks so much for all that you do! Joy
