Through out our remodel I have looked for way to save money, go green, become more efficient. What ever you call it, it works. We spent a little extra and instead of going with the large round tank water heaters that constantly keep the 50 gallons of water hot and ready. We went with a unit you hang on the wall and is a on demand instant water heater. It runs off gas and turns on only when the hot water is turned on anywhere in the house.
I was shocked to see our gas bill drop! In May we used 53 therms (rate of measuring the gas) in June the heater was installed, that month it dropped to 30 therms, and July (a full month using it) it dropped to 17 therms.
