Fast And Easy Science Fair Experiments For Kids Of All Ages!
My daughter did this Science Fair Project last year when she was in first grade. But I just came across the photos today, so I figured I would share this fun idea with you! She had so much fun making this project, it was easy to make and turned out really pretty!
For her project she was suppose to make a hypothesis (hypothesis: an idea or theory that is not proven but that leads to further study or discussion) about something. Since we often blow dry her hair, her question or hypothesis was, Can A Blow Dryer Melt Crayons. She then had 3 questions she had to answer, and 3 conclusions to what happened. .
- Do you think they will melt?
- How long do you think it will take to melt them?
- Do you think they will melt down to the bottom?
- How long did it take for the crayons to start melting?
- Did they make it to the bottom?
- Did you have fun?
Great thing about this project is it only took 2 dollars! We got the Science Fair Poster Board and the crayons at the Dollar Tree (a local dollar store). We used a hot glue gun to glue the crayons in place at the top of the poster board. We then took it outside, tiled it against a wall and started the blow dryer. We then watched the crayons start to melt and roll down the page. It makes a rather pretty color display once you are done.
Hope this helps you come up with a fast and easy, plus low cost science fair project for your kids!
