Fun Art Project For the Kids ~ Get Them Using Their Fine Motor Skills

This summer has been long and hot where we live.  It seems like as the summer goes on, no one wants to go outside!  That makes for some bored kids and a mom that is going crazy!  So we have improvised and come up with ways that help them learn and help them develop skills while also having fun.  It is a win win for all of us!

All you need is a notepad and a marker, pencil or pen.  Have your child place the notebook on top of their head and draw a picture.  You direct them.  For example “in the top corner, draw a sun. In the middle of your paper draw a person.  Now draw three clouds.  Give your person 2 eyes and a smile.  Now give them shoes.  Now write your name somewhere on the paper.”  It makes it fun when you divide up one specific element of the picture.  Like separating the face from the body because then they have to guess where thy drew the body!  Doesn’t it sound fun?  My kids had a good time looking at what they created when they pull the notebook down.

This was so fun and kept the kids busy for a few minutes! 😉 Hope it helps bust the boredom at your house too!
